I WANT TO HELP
WAYS TO SERVE
Be a good neighbor – One of the biggest ways we can serve one another during this time is by following community recommendations. Even during this time of social distancing, you can still check on your community through phone, texting, email, and video conferencing. Now is an important time to pray for our community and our neighbors around the world.
Fig Tree is a space that exists to meet essential needs and invite all into a safe community where we can truly be seen and known. Volunteers greet guests and facilitate the services we provide including showers, laundry, computers, and meals. We’ll be offering volunteer training soon! To learn more, email Hannah or visit here.
Phone Ministry – Our phone ministry enables us to reach out and stay connected to the hundreds of families we typically serve in person each month. Please sign up here if you are interested in serving.
CAC – Mobile Meals has resumed daily meal delivery. Call the Office on Aging at 865-524-2786 and ask for Mobile Meals.
CAC – Connecting Hearts program – focuses on isolated seniors with no support system. Donations of items such as tuna, soup, cereal, peanut butter, toilet paper, paper products, water, etc.
United Way and Alliance for Better Nonprofits has created a COVID-19 fund to support organizations offering relief in our community.
I NEED HELP
Manna House – Manna House has Take Out food bags available for pick up on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, from 9 am to 11 am. Drive to the Manna House entrance at 9919 Kingston Pike and a volunteer will bring a bag to you.
Hope Connection is an outreach ministry to low-income families that seeks to build relationships that lead to financial stability and overall well-being. By first building a relationship, we are able to better understand each individual’s situation and focus on creating lasting change in their quality of life. Currently our process is being conducted over the phone. Call our offices (693-0353) M-Th 8:30a-12:30p to schedule an appointment.
Fig Tree offers a safe space to form community and meet essential needs. Showers, laundry, internet and computer access, and meals are part of the services we offer.
Community Resources – Tennessee 211 is a resource available to our community at any time, but is especially helpful during this time when resources are changing daily. When you call, you’ll get a real person, one who is trained to help you sort out your needs, and then give you phone numbers and addresses of the closest places where you can get help. Simply dial 211 in your phone to reach someone who can direct you.
