Holiday Season 2020
We still have so much to celebrate.
SURVIVING THE HOLIDAYS – GRIEFSHARE GROUP
The holidays can be especially difficult if you are grieving the loss of a loved one. Our Surviving the Holidays: GriefShare group will offer two options this year. We will have a one-day, in-person workshop on Sunday, November 22 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. Register now. Our online group will begin on Monday, November 23 at 6:30 pm. This group meets weekly for 4 weeks on Zoom. For more information and to register, contact Shirley Gross.
ADVENT BOOK STUDY
Join Rev. Charles Maynard for this online Advent study of Olu Brown’s book: Hope: An Advent Journey. Beginning Monday, November 30 from 7 to 8 pm via Zoom. This study lasts 4 weeks. If you’d like to purchase a book, you can do so on Amazon.
CHRISTMAS HOPE 2020
Christmas Hope is an opportunity to share the joy of Christmas with families connected to some of our Cokesbury ministries. It is still happening this year, but just like everything else, it will look a bit different – and we will need lots of help!
We will be offering multiple 1-hour parties throughout the first 2 weekends of December. Each family will share a meal together, do a family craft/activity, have their picture taken, and receive the gifts that they have chosen prior to the party.
The volunteer roles at each party include: partner with a family, serve the meal, assist with the craft/activity, help kids shop for their parent, loading gifts for the adults, clean up and set up for the next party. We will also have pre-party roles for decorating, gift wrapping, and organizing gifts.
Here’s how you can help!
- Shop for gifts to fill the Christmas Store. Families will be able to choose gifts for their children and will purchase them for a fraction of the retail price. If you wish to shop in-store, search for our Target Registry by using the first name Cokesbury and the last name Christmas Hope.
- Sign up to serve at a party (or 2) or in one of the pre-party roles. A complete list of party dates and times is available below.
If you have questions, please email Jill Stuckey at email@example.com.

While we won’t be able to hold our usual Christmas Eve services, we will still gather together to celebrate the good news that light is shining in the darkness! We will have three outdoor services of carols and candlelight on the North Campus, featuring musicians from both campuses and a message from Senior Pastor Stephen DeFur. Join us on December 22, 23, or 24 at 5:30 pm. We will also have online worship options on December 24 and December 25.
